Though Professor Chukwuma Soludo has another 24 hours before he assumes duty as Anambra State Governor, he has, nevertheless, received handover documents from the outgoing governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
Obiano, on Wednesday, formally handed over the official government documents to him at the Government House, Awka.
Obiano also conducted the governor-elect round offices in Government House. The ceremony was witnessed by the outgoing secretary to the state government (SSG), Professor Solo Chukwudebelu, and some aides of Soludo.
At the ceremony devoid of any fanfare, Obiano handed over to Soludo documents containing assets and liabilities of the state, as well as ongoing projects across the state.
Soludo will be sworn in on Thursday as the governor of Anambra State.
The ceremony is expected to be low key as only about 50 persons have officially been invited for the ceremony. Soludo had said he would prefer a quiet oath taking ceremony devoid of the usual fanfare associated with such ceremony.
He also said he would drive to the slum city of Okpoko near Onitsha to commence work immediately after the ceremony.
It is not yet clear whether Obiano will be at the swearing-in on Thursday.
The incoming governor is expected to make his first key appointments after the oath taking ceremony.
