Nnamdi Kanu: South-East Governors To Meet Tinubu


The five governors of the South-East geopolitical zone rose from a crucial meeting in Enugu on Tuesday with a resolution to interface with the Federal Government to secure the release of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.

The continued detention of the Biafra agitator is one of the major issues on the governors agenda, but no date was fixed for the meeting.

In a communique issued by the five governors after the meeting, the Forum said their visit to Mr. President was to discuss pressing issues concerning the South East Region.

At the meeting, the Forum received the delegation of the former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Emeka Anyaoku and His Royal Majesty Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Obi of Onitsha who came on a solidarity visit to the Forum.

They also deliberated on the reviewed report of the South East Security and economic Summit held in Owerri on the 28th September, 2023 and agreed to implement the aspects of the report pertaining to security and economic integration and affirmed its desire to put actionable plans on the key issues agreed.

The communique was signed by Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, Dr. Alex Otti of Abia State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, of Anambra State, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State and Dr. Peter Mbah of Enugu State.
