BREAKING: Concern Mounts Over Ifeanyi Ubah’s Health

Concern is mounting over the health condition of Ifeanyi Ubah, business mogul and Senator representing Anambra South.

The Senator had reported ill and in the United Kingdom where he has been receiving treatment.

Information received exclusively by People&Politics on Saturday said his condition deteriorated in the past 24 hours, after arriving the UK from Nigeria earlier in the week.

A close associate who spoke on the issue said his family members, business and political associates are “deeply worried by the reports that have been coming in from London”.

He did not explain further.

Calls sent to Ubah’s MTN number were not connecting as at this morning and none of the texts were replied. None of his aides have so far commented on his condition.

The Senator who was elected on the platform of the Young Peoples Party, YPP, in 2019, was reelected on that platform in 2023. He defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, earlier this year and has indicated interest in seeking the governorship of Anambra State in next year’s election.

Ubah contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election and came fourth in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

On January 9, Soludo suspended Damian Ezeani, a traditional ruler of the Neni community, for conferring a chieftaincy title on Ubah “without obtaining the permission of the traditional ruler of the recipient’s community, or the ministry of local government, chieftaincy and community affairs”.

The governor reinstated the suspended monarch a few days later.
