Tipper Driver Kills Motorcyclist, Flees In Anambra

A tipper driver, Thursday, killed a motorcyclist in Anambra State. The tipper, fully loaded with sand, fell after killing the yet-to-be-identified man.

The driver fled after killing the motorcyclist; police are trailing him, an eyewitness said.

The incident occurred at Nteje Umueri by Awka-Nteje-Onitsha expressway. The probable cause of the crash was attributed to wrongful overtaking.

According to an eyewitness, the motorcyclist was trying to overtake the tipper when it lost control, and fell before the tipper.

The sector public education officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, Margaret B Onabe, confirmed the incident.

She said, “Three male adults and one female adult were involved in the crash.
One male adult was killed. One female adult was injured and two male adults rescued unhurt.”

The killed victim was taken away by his family members to Agulere, our correspondent gathered.

Meanwhile, the sector commander, FRSC, Commander Joyce Nnenaya Alexander, commiserated with the family of the dead victim, and admonished motorists to observe road rules and avoid dangerous overtaking.
