Enugu Police Spokesman,Borno Gov’s ADC Decorated With New Rank

This appears to be a good season for some police officers as career promotions came their way, in a move seen as fitting reward for their hard work and dedication to duty.

In Enugu State Police Command, spokesman of the Command, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Daniel Ndukwe, has been lifted to become a Superintendent of Police (SP).

He was decorated by the state Commissioner of Police (CP), Kanayo Uzuegbu, and billionaire businessman/philanthropist, Prince Arthur Eze.

Another SP emerged in the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Borno state governor, former DSP Ashigar Baba Kulbu, who was decorated by the governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum,in Maiduguri, the capital of the North-Eastern state.

A press statement by the Enugu Police Command noted that during the decoration ceremony in Enugu, capital of the South-Eastern state, CP Uzuegbu congratulated the newly-promoted officer and urged him to view the promotion as a call to greater responsibility.

He advised SP Ndukwe to exercise utmost wisdom and diligence in the discharge of his duties.

Also counseling the police spokesman, Prince Eze,after congratulating him, encouraged Ndukwe to remain focused and be even more dedicated to his responsibilities.

In his response, SP Ndukwe expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun for recommending him for the promotion and to the Police Service Commission (PSC) for approving it.

He also thanked CP Uzuegbu and Prince Eze for taking the time to decorate him and for their encouraging words.

Ndukwe pledged to continue to perform his duties with dedication and professionalism.

The event was also attended by the Managing Director of Eketeson Resources International Limited, a private firm, Chief (Engr.) Donald Ekete.

At a brief decoration ceremony in Government House, Maiduguri, Gov. Zulum was assisted by the Borno state CP, Yusufu Mohammed Lawal.

A statement by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media, Abdurrahman Bundi, on Tuesday, January 7, said Zulum, while congratulating the ADC, also commended his commitment and dedication to serving the country.

“I want to congratulate you on your new rank; this is undoubtedly the result of your hard work and dedication to your duty. Therefore, I urge you to continue serving the country dutifully,” Zulum remarked.

The ceremony was attended by the state Deputy Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur; Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bukar Tijani; Head of Service, Barrister Mallam Fannami; Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar; senior government officials and officers of the state Police Command.
