Kaduna State Government has revealed plans by those it called “conflict entrepreneurs” to plunge the North-Western state into fresh rounds of blood-letting, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It said the unidentified personalities were recruiting and funding bandits and kidnappers to trigger renewed bloody crises in the state in order to disparage the accomplishments of the State Governor,Uba Sani, who,it noted, had restored relative peace, security and calm to flashpoints across the state in just over a year of his assumption of duties.
The state government reminded people of the state and others of the unrelenting bloodshed that had rocked Birnin Gwari, Chikun,Kajuru, Jamaa and other Local Government Areas (LGAs) in time past before Gov. Sani came to power, saying presently the governor had restored inter-community and inter-personal harmony among the different peoples of the state.
Maintaining that those behind the insecurity plot were intent on finding a way into Government House, Kaduna, the state government declared that there is no vacancy in the seat of power in 2027.
These were contained in a statement issued on Monday, January 13, by Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Affairs to the State Governor, Hon. Victor Matthew Bobai.
In it, the government handed a clear warning to detractors who were allegedly aiming to undermine the state’s advancements, to desist or face dire consequences.
Bobai insisted that “there is no vacancy in Sir Kashim Ibrahim House (Government House Kaduna) come 2027.”
According to him, the righteous path of leadership embarked upon by Gov. Sani “will endure” and was being appreciated by people of the state.
Bobai stated that the state’s leadership had “during a recent address, passionately articulated the resolve of the people of Kaduna to resist any conspiratorial efforts from conflict entrepreneurs and propagandists seeking to destabilize the achievements made under Governor Sani’s leadership.”
Warning those persons he called “blackmailers” to retrace their steps, the SSA stressed that “the citizens of Kaduna are largely satisfied with the progressive direction spearheaded by their hardworking governor.”
He contextualized the currently calm socio-political climate with the past, disclosing that those bent on sabotage were employing various tactics, including instigating violence through hired criminal elements, to disrupt the peace and security established in the state.
Beating the drums of celebration, he described as “a model of peace and development” the developmental path toed by Gov. Sani.
He said: “Under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, Kaduna has experienced a resurgence of community harmony and safety, a priority that remains paramount amidst challenges.
“The governor’s innovative peace model has proven effective, as evidenced by the stabilization of areas previously plagued by unrest, including Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Chikun, Kajuru, and Jama’a Local Government Areas (LGAs).
“These regions are now enjoying a more peaceful atmosphere, which is crucial for the state’s socio-economic development.
“The governor’s commitment to restoring security has been further highlighted by recent reports of kidnappers and bandits allegedly being funded by political adversaries.”
Bobai strongly warned that these efforts to undermine the Sani administration through violence and intimidation would not be tolerated and should expect hellish response in accordance with the law.
His words: “Those using kidnappers and bandits to attack innocent citizens and raise unnecessary alarms will face the full consequences of the law.”
Again, he stressed the administration’s zero tolerance for insecurity and violence.
Turning to the accomplishments of the Sani administration, Bobai described them as “a series of impressive achievements that have transformed the socio-economic and political environment of Kaduna State.”
Reeling out the feats, the SSA listed some of the key ones as healthcare advancements with the equipping of 290 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) with essential equipment and supplies to enhance grassroots healthcare delivery; reforms featuring the commissioning of over 2,300 new classrooms and significant educational reforms to improve literacy and learning outcomes; as well as infrastructural development, wherein over 100 roads have been commissioned, including the 5.2 kilometer road linking Dan-makwarwa to Hunkuyi in Kudan LGA.
He added: “The revitalization of the Panteka market and the development of a new Township Stadium also stand out as key infrastructure projects; economic empowerment: launching of N11.4billion empowerment programme aimed at boosting local economies and creating job opportunities; welfare initiatives: example includes the paying out of N3.1billion to pensioners and other beneficiaries to ensure their financial security; strong governance, especially the introduction of the 2025 Appropriation Bill to ensure continued growth and development across various sectors.”
These initiatives, he noted, reflect the governor’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of people of the state, demonstrating a vision of sustainable development and improved living standards.
“With a track record of fulfilling promises and a stringent stance against corruption, Governor Uba Sani is poised to continue his transformative journey”, Bobai stated.
He added:”Recently, revelations of financial mismanagement by former officials, including the ex-Chief of Staff and Commissioner of Finance Bashir Saidu, underscore the need for accountability within the government—an area where Sani has shown dedication and resolve.
“As the governor’s popularity continues to rise among the citizenry, there are growing sentiments that his administration is making historical strides in governance and public service.
“The Kaduna State government, under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, stands firm against any divisive tactics threatening its progress.
“In summary, with the unwavering support of its citizens, the administration is set on an unstoppable trajectory towards further achievements and the realization of a prosperous Kaduna State.
“Governor Uba Sani’s vision for Kaduna is a call to unity and resilience against saboteurs.”
