Increased Crime: Kaduna Police Command Issues Security Tips, Updates To Residents

Kaduna State Police Command has sensitized residents on various safety tips, personnel deployment and creation of more nipping points across the state, apparently owing to increased criminal activities by enemies of society.

State Commissioner of Police (CP), Rabiu Muhammad, said the Command remained committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.

These were contained in a press release issued by spokesman of the Command, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Mansir Hassan.

It said: “The Command has intensified its proactive measures, deployment of police personnel to strategic areas, created more nipping points, vulnerable and flashpoints across key locations in the state to enhance safety and security of all persons and properties for greater economic development of the state.

“These key points are designed to enhance police visibility, deter criminal activities, and provide rapid response to security challenges. Residents are urged to cooperate with officers at these points and report any suspicious activities immediately.”

On safety tips for all residents, the statement added: “To ensure the safety of lives and property, the Police Command advises the public to observe the following 5 safety precautionary measures:

​”Be vigilant: Always be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious movements or persons to the nearest Police station or any security personnel nearest to you.

​”Avoid late night movements. Unless when necessary, refrain from traveling late at night in isolated areas.

​”Secure your homes and properties: Lock all doors and windows properly before leaving home or going to bed. Install security lights where possible.

​”Be cautious with strangers: Do not share personal information or allow strangers into your home or business premises without verification, and

“Report crime promptly: In case of any emergency, distress, or suspicious activity, promptly contact the police for swift response and intervention.”
