Chairman, Taraba State chapter of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan, has commiserated with the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, over the tragic death of three staff members of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the state.
Dr. Hassan, who doubles as Chairman, Jalingo Local Government Area (LGA) of the North-East Nigerian State, also sympathized with members of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), civil servants, particularly LG staff, over the demise.
The three NULGE officials died in a motor accident along Wukari-Jalingo road while returning from Abuja, the nation’s capital, following an official engagement.
In a statement issued to newsmen Thursday, February 13, in Jalingo, the state capital, Dr. Hassan described the incident as shocking and prayed God for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
The Chairman, who also prayed God to grant the bereaved families of the deceased, the NULGE family and people of the state, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, remarked that all three passed on when their services were most needed.
Hassan, who is also the National Welfare Officer, ALGON, encouraged workers in the state not to allow the incident dampen their morale as consistent efforts are required to build a virile and prosperous Taraba state and Nigeria.
He said Taraba ALGON is deeply touched over the incident, urging all to take solace in the inevitability of death.
However, Hassan said the consolation is that the deceased bequeathed enduring legacies and paid the supreme price in service to the fatherland.
