Trump To Make English US Official Language -Here’s What It Means

President Donald Trump plans to sign an Executive Order making English the official U.S. language, reversing a Clinton-era rule that required federal agencies to provide language assistance for non-English speakers.

For the first time in nearly 250 years, the U.S. might officially have a national language, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

According to White House officials, President Trump is set to sign an Executive Order making English the country’s official language at the federal level, per English translation of Mundo Deportivo quoting The Wall Street Journal.

Right now, the U.S. has no designated national language. With a long history of immigration, hundreds of languages are spoken across the country.

But this order wouldn’t just be symbolic—it would also roll back a rule put in place by President Bill Clinton.

That rule required federal agencies and organizations that receive government funding to offer language assistance for non-English speakers.

If this Order goes through, it could change how government services, documents, and even public assistance programs operate for people who don’t speak English fluently.
