I’ll Take Unemployed Graduates Off The Streets -Alaafin

Alaafin-elect, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, has said one item on his agenda is to ensure that job-seeking graduate youths are taken away from the streets.

He added that he would create vocational skill centres for youths.

According to a press statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, Bode Durojaiye, on Tuesday, March 11, the paramount ruler said he would make sure some graduates with Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) were helped with cyber security training “so as to checkmate seeking greener pastures abroad.”

Alaafin Owoade stated that he would continue from where his predecessor, the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, stopped, in promoting culture and improving on Sango and Oranmiyan festivals.

Durojaiye quoted the leading royal father as saying that widows and widowers would be empowered “in order to improve their socio-economic lives.”

He added: “What is more important is development of health facilities; this has been the new Alaafin’s priority and he wants to be remembered for it during his reign.

“Alaafin Owoade has negotiated with international organisations and they have agreed to support him to develop his kingdom.

“Oba Owoade will also make sure the artefacts taken away by the British in 1895 are brought back with some payments made.”
