Zamfara State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty of new State Commissioner of Police (CP), Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba.
He is the state’s 35th CP.
Maikaba takes over from MD Shehu, who has been promoted Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police and redeployed to Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Maikaba was born in Nasarawa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano state on February 15, 1968.
He attended both primary and secondary schools in Kano state and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Economics, Bayero University, Kano.
Maikaba joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
He brings a wealth of experience to Zamfara, having served in multiple strategic commands.
His exceptional track record in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and inter-agency collaboration informed his posting to Zamfara State.
CP Maikaba is married and blessed with children.
