Ekwunife Visits Gov. Soludo, Calls For Support Across Party Lines


The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly Dr. Uche Ekwunife, has called on religious, traditional and political leaders in the state, irrespective of party affiliation, to rally round the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo and work for the actualization of the vision, goals and dreams of the state’s founding fathers.

She made the pledge when she led a high-powered delegation from Anambra Central to pay a courtesy visit to the governor.

In like wise, she assured the Governor of the partnership of her office in moving the state forward.

While she used the occasin to congratulate Governor Soludo on his victory and inauguration as the 6th Executive Governor of Anambra state, she described his emergence as “the will of God – a reflection of the wishes of the people.”

“It is my belief that the aspirations and wishes of Ndi Anambra must always supersede our respective partisan interests,” she said.

In his speech at the event, Governor Soludo thanked Ekwunife and the people of Anambra Central for the gesture, saying his government appreciated strategic and special partnerships with the federal government, the international community, Non-Governmental Organizations, captains of industry and the citizenry in its effort to move Anambra State forward.

The Governor described Senator Ekwunife as an amazon who has always shown Solidarity and support in several ways as a true daughter of the State.

He called on those representing the state at the National Assembly to bring back their best to the state as the 2023 budget circle draws near, stressing that quality representation is needed to leverage on the positive potential of Ndi Anambra.

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, among others, were on hand to receive Senator Ekwunife and her entourage.
 
The Senator was accompanied by a delegation of members of the Senatorial District, comprising of Ndi Igwe, Presidents-General of Anambra Central communities, President and members of Ohaneze Ndigbo in the State and other stakeholders on the visit.
