Campaigns Kick Off Wednesday
The Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Dr. Peter Obi on Monday met with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Its the third time Obi would be conferring with the former military Head of State who also served as President from 1999 to 2007.
As the campaigns start nationwide tomorrow, Obi is pushing to become Nigeria’s president next year.
The Labour Party’s presidential candidate uploaded photos of the visit on his Twitter page on Monday, saying he deeply appreciated the opportunity to hold extensive discussions with Obasanjo on Monday.
The exchanges, according to Obi, were forthright and animated as usual, adding that discussions bothered on issues of national interest.
“I deeply appreciate the opportunity to hold extensive discussions with President Olusegun Obasanjo earlier today on arising national interest matters. As usual, the exchanges were forthright and animated,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
Obi has been riding the crest of widespread popularity in recent weeks. Nigerians of all ages but especially the youth have expressed a preference for his candidature. Ahead of the political campaigns, road walks have been organized in several cities in Nigeria to express solidarity with him.
