Zenith Bank Plc has appointed Dame Adaora Umeoji as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. The appointment by Nigeria’s most capitalised bank, will take effect from June 2024. She is the first female to attain the position in the bank. Adaora Umeoji was the Deputy Managing Director of the bank before her elevation. She succeeds Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu who was appointed Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank Plc on June 1, 2019. The Nigerian Communications Commission has announced that approximately 90% of peak utilization capacities of voice and data services have now been restored after the March 14, 2024, disruption due to cuts in undersea fibre optics along the coasts of Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal.
